Perriman Group of Companies

How it started

The Perriman Group began with a simple need: a place to call home.

A home away from home

Years ago, while studying in London, I met my husband. During one of our holidays to Ghana, we found ourselves staying in a hotel because we had no family home in Accra. That experience stayed with me. I realised how many people — Ghanaians living abroad, travellers returning home, and families visiting the city — shared the same challenge. There was a need for a place that felt welcoming, safe, and personal.

I set out to build a family home in Accra. But as the project grew, I felt strongly that it shouldn’t be just for us. I wanted it to be a place for anyone whose circumstances mirrored mine — people who needed a home away from home. What started as a private residence evolved into something bigger: a space designed to serve others.

When my husband and I married, I took his surname, Perriman. Naming the hotel after our family name felt natural. It represented love, partnership, and the beginning of a shared legacy.

That home became Perriman Hotel, the first company in what would later grow into the Perriman Group. It was built with intention — to offer comfort, dignity, and Ghanaian warmth to every guest. From those early steps, a vision began to take shape: creating businesses that serve people, strengthen communities, and open doors for others.

Today, that vision has expanded into a multi-sector organisation across hospitality, real estate, travel and tours, agriculture, culinary education, and social impact.

It all began with one home, one need, and one belief: that every great business starts by solving a human problem.
