Creating New Futures

Fatima was born in Bawku, in the Upper East Region of Ghana, and began her own education under the shade of a tree. She wanted to pass her love of learning on to other children.
The charity works in two ways. It helps Ghanaian women start businesses of their own, so they are no longer financially dependent on their husbands’ families, and it builds schools and provides resources so children can learn in a safe environment.
Our projects
Three projects the charity supports in Ghana. Each has more detail on the Creating New Futures website.

Women in Business
A small amount of funding lets a woman start her own business using skills learned at home, such as cooking and sewing. The charity pays the start-up costs and can link her to a mentor.

Tichirigi School
The first school building funded by the charity, built by the community at the end of their days on the farms. Every child has a uniform and shoes, and a library is planned.

Get involved
Creating New Futures thrives on the time, skills and energy of its volunteers, who come from around the world to work alongside the local teams in Ghana. The charity also offers paid roles for people who share its passion for improving lives there.
Donations, large or small, keep the work going: they pay for resources, education and support for the women and children who need it.
